Offset printing. Offset printing is a commonly used printing technique where the inked image is transferred (or "offset") from a plate to a rubber blanket, then to the printing surface. When used in combination with the lithographic process, which is based on the repulsion of oil and water, the offset technique employs a flat (planographic) image carrier on which the image to be printed obtains ink from ink rollers, while the non-printing area attracts a water-based film (called "fountain solution"), keeping the non-printing areas ink-free.. Our Single or Spot colour offset printing service. At In-Print we have single colour sheet fed presses and we are capable of doing "spot colour" work of up to two colours. Any change in colour requires a "wash down" (eg. changing form say red to blue ink). These are ideal for business forms, envelopes and larger volume orders of flyers, and brochures. One of the presses is fitted with a Mona numbering attachment. This allows us to not only imprint consecutive numbers while printing, it also allows us to do perforating and scoring. Advantages of offset printing compared to other printing methods include:
Disadvantages of offset printing compared to other printing methods include:
In addition, we offer specialty items such as custom rubber stamps, cheque printing, laminating and mounting of photographs and documents onto hardboard. |
